Viva Gozadera

This is a sweet little mix of afro/brazillian/latin flavored tunes by a DJ called Captain Planet. I don't know much about Captain Planet other than he has a keen ear for good tunes. He has his own music bolg which I will link at the bottom of this post. It is a great blog that you should def check out sometime when you got a sec. Artists featured in this mix are Jorge Ben, Cut Chemist, Red Astaire, The Lat-Teens, Luiz Bonfa, and Beatfanatic among many more talanted musicians. I love the hip-hop joint thats beat samples the Luiz Bonfa tune on this mix. Listen. It's ill.

Eel, Anyone?

Here is an album by one of my favorite Bay Area producers, Unagi. This guy is off the chain for real. This record is composed of some of the freshest beats I've heard in a long time. Unagi's style is definately his own, and with the added talent of MC's such as Kero One , Infinito 2017 , King Ceasar aka XRay, and Motion Man, this album is definately one of my favorites, and gets a lot of play around my way. Unagi flows on the track "Lost and Found". Check it out.

Here's Unagi's latest endevor, a five track Valentine's day special, "Unagi For Lovers", which mixes up some good ol' fashion love ballads from greats like Barry White, with that distinct Unagi groove. Ya dig?

DJ Shadow + Cut Chemist

Here are the tracks off of the DJ Shadow/Cut Chemist colab "Product Placement". Samples used are too many to name, but this is such a nice blend of hip-hop, soul, funk, and little of everthing else, that everyone is sure to enjoy.

Roots Roots

In the spirit of 4/20 we are all listening to alot of reggae. This post is The Abyssinians first album Satta Massagana. The tiltle track is a legend in the rasta community I believe it means "give thanks" in an ancient Ethipoian language. Some roots-heads regard this as the best roots reggae record ever. Either way light up a fatty and enjoy....
